Even though this past weekend was a whirlwind of family, friends, and football games I did manage a stop at Circa 1857. I love this store and try to stop by everytime we go back home to Baton Rouge. They have tons of architectual salvage, art, food, music, parties ect. There's even a yoga studio! I get inspired everytime I go.
I love to just wander around see what I can find. I don't know what it is but I love this old stuff!
A pile of rusty table legs! How cool would these be with a piece of wood or stone on top?
Lots of old window bars like the ones I made my end tables out of. (I got mine for free though..;)
Oh a whole row of chairs like my red vintage chair on our porch! I couldn't convince the hubs that we needed a whole set.
These things are so cool but I'm not sure what they are. Old biscuit baking pans? Jello molds? Who knows but I love the patina and there are a ton of them. Maybe they could be fitted together for a table top or something.
Another odd find. Metal traffic cones? The large one is as tall as I am.
Drawers full of rusty odds and ends!
Another great thing about Circa is the art you can find there. A lot of it is made from materials found from the store. They have paintings, sculpture, and antiques as well.
A monkey!
The outdoor space is so nice. You can order lunch and sit out on the patio. They have bands and events here on occasion.
I have not been able to find such a place in San Antonio yet, if anyone has any clues let me know!
Does anyone else have a favorite junk spot they like to frequent? Where do you go to just browse around and get inspired?
I have actually been here before. It is very inspireing. I love the little gift shop there also. So many wonderful things at Christmas and other holidays. Definitely a must see if you are in town.
ReplyDeleteAt one time my dad lived in a rent house that had pans just like that as the ceiling in the kitchen. If I remember correctly, the landlord said they were old hamburger bun pans. Either way, it looked VERY cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you guys this weekend. Give Connor a hug for me!
Ok, I am drooling over the row of doors and windows. To die for!! I'd love those muffins pans or whatever they are. I'd use them for cieling tiles.
ReplyDeleteWe have a somewhat similar place like that here but definately not at junk sale prices. Does Circa 1857 have junk sale prices?
i love rusty metal. Nature has such a wonderful way of giving man made items extra beauty.
