LG Hi-Macs Annual Design Competition

Hey Blog Friends! Today I want to share with you something I've been working on top secretly for a while now. I've been waiting to show you until I was able to enter my design into the contest- and finally I have!

This year LG Hi-Macs is having a competition for architects and designers to come up with any object that can use LG Hi-Macs and can be placed in an interior space. What is LG Hi-Macs? It's a unique material that can be molded into any shape or form you can think of. Here are some examples:

Denver Theater

Empire Riverside Hotel

SLO Table by Gensler

Way cool right? Well my little idea is not as big or fancy as the above but I still think it's pretty neat. I had an idea to create a Key Holder/ Iphone Charger called "Sam".

Here's a description of "Sam":

"My husbands two favorite questions are "Where are my keys?" and "Where is my phone?". The Sam answers both of those questions by providing a unique place to store keys and charges your phone at the same time. It even provides a space for spare change and such. It plugs into an outlet and does not sit on the countertop; thus saving precious counter space. The design on the back spells out "Home" in Morse Code. The Sam is named for Samuel Morse; inventor of Morse Code, thus bridging the gap between the way we first communicated long distance to the way we do today. LG HiMacs is the perfect material for this device with it's moldable capability and high durability. The Sam is a great addition for any home or office."

What do you think? Would this be something you could use in your daily life?

If you also think this is a pretty neat idea would you be so kind as to go and vote for me? There are some amazing designs and I'm up against some big time firms. Every vote counts! You have to log in but it only takes a minute and they don't spam you or anything. :)

Thanks!
