I did manage to complete a design board for the Robert Allen Design Vision 2088. It is a contest put on by Robert Allen Fabrics. They are celebrating their 75th anniversary and asked designers to come up with a color scheme of the future.
I had to come up with a color scheme that I thought would be popular in the future and create a design board using that scheme.
My scheme came from an idea that the future world would be in a state of economic uncertainty. The design world is bland and plain from lack of spending. Slowly though things begin to turn around peaking in the year 2088. People begin to spend their new found wealth and design becomes opulent and bold.
I choose rich velvet fabrics in bold colors. Gold accents and marble stone further the rich feel. The dark moody floors and walls complete the look. I don't know if Fiddle Leaf Figs will still be the "It" plant but I stuck one in there.
The contest has been extended until Monday and is open to anyone who has a Robert Allen account. The grand prize is a trip to New York and a ticket to the Interior Design Hall of Fame Gala! I figured what the heck and took a chance with my entry.
Great designs...
