Well this weekend I happened to stop in at The Oz, everything they have is Mid-Century themed and they have lots of cool stuff. I usually don't stop in because they are pretty pricey. But I took a look for the heck of it and saw these a pair guys for sale:
They were marked $125 but I talked them down to $80. Not the deal of the century but I really liked them. They are made of teak, sturdy and in good shape. They are the style I've been looking for but haven't had a lot of luck in finding.
They have neat little details-
They just need some new upholstery. I just need to find them two more friends of a similar style and I'll hunt for some appropriate fabric.
And the funny thing is that The Hubs has yet to say anything about them! I don't know if he really hasn't noticed that there are 2 new chairs in the dining room or that he's so used to strange objects showing up in our house that he no longer feels the need to comment.
So to recap-
This
+ this
will eventually =
I'm so excited! Has anyone else found something they have been searching for lately? Any good thrift store finds? Anyone have some chairs they want to donate to me? ;)

I'm a sucker for mid-century. I'd say you did pretty good girl and you are well on your way to seeing your dream dining come true!

Your chairs are great. I love the fabrics. I always see mid-century things lately when I am out and about, but they don't last long, they are in big demand. Happy VTT!
Good luck in finding their friends!
I'm kinda new to mid-century. My better half found a dining room table (legless) and 4 chairs in the garbage last year. We are in the process of sprucing them up and having legs made...
We also found a great couch in a thrift shop a couple of weeks ago.
Drop by for a visit :)
I like the chairs as they are. Perhaps a different color for the seats would definitely give them a different look. I am sure in time your hubby will notice. Most times they do.
Ha! Another gal with mid century dining room dreams! I just acquired 6 chairs that match but we have a dining room table that seats 12- I keep finding chairs I like, but none of them go with the next ones I find, lol! It's a vicious cycle!
BTW, I just saw 4 identical chairs to what you purchased but with turquoise vinyl upholstery and they were asking $295 for the set, so you got a GREAT deal!
Love the chairs. My hubs sounds like yours. He doesn't notice much. Big smile. I love that about him for the most part. I can buy new clothes and he notices that he like them on me but has no idea they are new. BIG smile.
Hugs, Jeanne

Ooooo. I love your midcentury/modern look. If you're willing to splurge, my hubby works at Herman Miller. Maybe he can get you an employee discount?
