Give A Dog A Bone

Do you ever have those projects that you store in the back of your mind, meaning to get it done but never do? Well this is one of those, and the great news is that I finished it! I hand painted shower curtain for Con-Man's bathroom.

I had a dog theme going for Con-Man's bathroom in our new home based on these cute towel hooks I had found at Ikea. Con loves dogs and I thought these would be fun for his very own space.

Well, I started almost two years ago and ended there. Other projects took priority and Con-Man started potty training and ended up used our bathroom all the time. Recently though he's been using his "own big boy bathroom" and I decided to make it special and finish what I started. I wanted a fun shower curtain that had a dog theme. If you look for dog shower curtains online there isn't much and what is out there is not that great.

My idea was based on (ok literally the same as) 80's pop art icon Keith Haring's work.

And since I couldn't find what I was looking for I made it on my own instead. I just sketched out a design on my existing white shower curtain:

Painted it:

And was done. Con-Man loves it and was excited to see it all come together. He thought it was the funniest thing that the dog was thinking of a bone. :)

So whenever you can't find what you're looking for don't be afraid to try your hand at making it yourself!

great job on the shower curtain. My daughter was a huge, huge fan of Keith Haring when she was younger. We still have a lot of his stuff hanging around.

catching you!
