And don't forget that the Ana White giveaway ends today!
I wanted to share a makeover with you today. I found this metal vintage card catalog drawer at the Goodwill several months ago for just a few dollars.
I bought it because I liked the industrial quality of it, and the chipped paint. But I wasn't sure what to do with it. So it's been sitting on our kitchen counter and I kind of forgot about it.
Over time it's become a catch all for some of our junk and seems to have found it's permanent home.
But I had an inspiration the other day that maybe a new coat of paint is just what my little drawer needed.
First up was taking the old paint off so I could start over with a smooth surface. To do this I used a steel brush drill bit; it was only a few dollars at the hardware store.
The process didn't take long. Make sure you do this in a venthelated space and wear a mask; paint dust gets everywhere.
After a while I had a smooth brushed metal surface that was paint ready.
Then after using a bold Royal Blue spray paint and a metallic spray paint for the handles I had a brand new drawer for our kitchen!
Here it is in it's original home!
Have you ever made over something to make it look new again?

What a great find! Thank you so much for sharing this at Rustic Restorations Weekend!
I'm not a fan of old and rustic, so I love this transformation! Also, good tip about the brush add-on, I'm tucking that little nugget of information in my brain! Great find, don't we always need more drawers?! And why can't people discard great stuff like this where I live?!
I LOVE it! It looks like a completely different piece and a great tip on cleaning paint off old metal. Thank you so much for sharing. Featuring at my party later today. -K
Awesome transformation!!! Now following! Blessings ~ Judy
Wow! Great makeover! Fantastic tip about the brush add on for the drill. I would have never thought of that. Going to keep that one in mind for future projects. Yay!
Thank you for sharing. :)
